At Rocky Creek Retrievers (RCR), each dog is individually trained to meet the needs of each client. Whether your goal is a gun dog for the duck blind or to participate in American Kennel Club (AKC) / United Kennel Club (UKC) hunt test competitions, RCR will help you achieve that goal.
There are three levels of Training: Basic, Intermediate and Advanced.
Basic Training
This level of training covers fundamental skills. This includes obedience, force fetch, collar conditioning, basic marking skills. We recommend starting your puppy around 6 months of age.
Intermediate Training
This level of training covers handling drills for both land and water, multiple marks, lining drills, and hunting scenarios.
Advanced Training
This level of training is for those who wish for the ultimate hunting dog. Training includes advanced handling drills, multiple markings, and challenging land and water blinds. This level of training gives the dog tools to compete at the master/finished levels of hunt tests.
Length of training varies with each dog's abilities and owner's needs. At RCR, we use first class training equipment, from bird launchers to bird boys. Live birds are used at RCR.
